SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PROCESS

Marshfield Fastpitch is proud to offer financial scholarships to High School students who plan to attend a secondary education system.  Two students will receive a $500 scholarship.

Application Deadline:

The application must be submitted by March 1, 2024. 

Email the application to marshfieldfastpitch@outlook.com. 

Selection Criteria:
  • Must have participated in a Marshfield Fastpitch Tournament Team for at least three (3) seasons.
  • Must plan to attend a 2 or 4 -year college, university or technical school. 
  • Must have a High School GPA of 2.5 or greater.
  • Demonstrate volunteerism, community involvement and engagement.
  • Must submit their High School transcript
Monetary Disbursement:

The student will receive $500 after the completion of their first semester. They must have maintained a GPA of 2.0 or better.  A check will be issued from Marshfield Fastpitch after the student provides a transcript for the first semester and proof of second semester registration. 

If the criteria are not met, following the selection period, the money must be returned to Marshfield Fastpitch.  Thereafter the scholarship money will be at the discretion of the board.

Scholarship Review:

The Board will review applications in March.  After a complete review, the Board will select two students to receive $500 each.  Recipients will be informed by their guidance counselor at the appropriate time.

2023 Recipient - McGuire

Being a member of the Marshfield Fastpitch Association has taught me many lessons such as hard work, commitment, resilience, as well as given me many lasting friendships. I will be attending the UW-River Falls to become an elementary teacher and I hope to continue my education to receive my masters in guidance counseling. 

2023 Recipient - linder

I am super excited to continue my education at UW Eau Claire! I will be majoring in Communications Sciences and Disorders in hopes to become a Speech Language Pathologist in elementary schools! I began playing softball with Marshfield on 10u and have continued playing since then. The experiences I had throughout my time playing the game of softball have taught me many life-lessons, built lifelong friendships, and created memories that will last a lifetime! Thank you for awarding me this scholarship. I am very grateful!

2022 Recipient - Voss

Madison has loved playing softball since she was a little girl. Her experiences in softball have provided her with multiple life-lessons and lasting friendships for which she is grateful. She is also thankful for the opportunity to have had her dad as one of her coaches! Madison will be attending UW-Lacrosse to possibly major in Exercise Sports Science with an emphasis on either pre-physical or occupational therapy. It is our pleasure to award Madison Voss with a $500 MFP scholarship!

2022 Recipient - Bornbach

Madelen is very excited for her future! She is attending UW-LaCrosse to study Exercise Sports Science. Madelen is on the fitness track of this major, meaning she would like to work in the field of strength and conditioning or human performance. She will  be playing softball for the UW-LaCrosse Eagles. Whether playing college softball, tackling her studies or meeting new friends, Madelen will grasp these opportunities with the same enthusiasm she has throughout her softball career to become her own independent person. It is our pleasure to award Madalen Bornbach with a $500 MFP scholarship!

2021 Recipient - Schaefer

Lydia is an outstanding young woman who has been active in our community. She is attending UW-Oshkosh working toward a degree in Psychology in their Honors College program. She found her love for softball at a very young age where it continued to grow throughout middle school and high school. She has also found in softball a group of girls in whom she has complete trust and faith both on and off the field. In addition to her amazing softball family, softball has provided Lydia life lessons in commitment, trust, teamwork, work ethic and dedication. 

2021 Recipient - Linder

Katlyn is a fun-loving, intelligent young lady, who has used her experiences in softball to become a leader both on and off the field. Her long resume of community activities is a testimony to the dedication and caring she derived from the game of softball. Whether raking leaves, tutoring, or volunteering at softball camps and tournaments, Katlyn gives her all. She is attending UW-LaCrosse with a major in exercise and sports science. She hopes to further her education in chiropractic school after college graduation.

2020 Recipient - Bogdonovich

Amanda Bogdonovich is one of the hardest working, considerate and dedicated players. She is always willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done and to play wherever she is needed. She has a can do attitude and always strives to be the best she can be and to encourage her teammates to be the best they can be. We are so thrilled she will be taking her love of the game to play in college and can’t wait to see her slide into home plate in a Viterbo uniform. 

2020 Recipient - Oestreich

Lexi Oestreich is a person who is always laughing and smiling. But when she is behind that plate, she is serious and fierce. Lexi is an amazing player who dedicates her time to numerous charitable activities and is always present to help when something needs to get done. She is a team player, a leader and an all around great athlete and young lady. We can’t wait to see what the future holds.
